... & OTHER ODDBALL STORIES

Snake (Mr. Pulley) was the tatooed man in the Running Wild In The 21st Century video.

I met him in a restaurant while I was on a lunch break from a construction job that I was doing.

To get my manager, Bill Seip, and video director, Phil Kates, to agree use snake in the video, I had to promise them that I would take care of Snake in case anything went wrong. I felt both Bill and Phil felt intimidated by Snake.

Snake turned out to be a pussycat, however, and I even received a Christmas card from him to prove it.

Phil Kates, director of the Helix video, "Running Wild In The 21st Century", won "Best Heavy Metal Video Director" at the 1990 Much Music Awards. Helix also performed live during the awards show.
