Brian Vollmer, lead vocalist of Helix, teaches a classical form of singing called "Bel Canto", which is an Italian method of singing used centuries ago in opera and still practiced today by the best singers in the world.

Brians teacher is a man by the name of  Edward Johnson who was the youngest member ever of the New York Metropolitan Opera. Mr. Johnson also has taught Beverly De Angelo, Andy Kurran, Gil Moore of Triumph, and many other well known singers.
Brian Vollmer sings the Canadian National Anthem in his hometown of Listowel, Ontario, Canada at the start of a Listowel Cyclones hockey game.
