... & OTHER ODDBALL STORIES

Ken Heague was considered one of the "original" members of Helix, even though he wasn't one of the musicians in the band. He was at the first band practice we ever had, and ended up becoming our Soundman / Lightman / Road Manager and diaper changer for the next 16 years.

Around 1990 Ken left the band to road manage such superstar acts as Green Jelly, Melissa Ethridge, Matthew Sweet, The Indigo Girls and Live.

Ken later took a position in Indianapolis, and his official title was "Special Assistant to the Owner of the Indianapolis Colts". When the Half-alive album was released he requested 15 copies for the team as they work out to heavy metal in the mornings!
