2002 started out with much promise. “That 80's Show”, a spin-off of the hit comedy “That 70's Show” licensed our song “No Rest for the Wicked” to use a back-ground music in one episode. The new CD was coming along and I was happy the way the tracks were starting to sound with new producer Rainer Weichmann.
Then, in the early part of the year, Daryl and I got into a huge argument after one recording session and Daryl quit citing “musical, artistic and business differences.”
Stan Mizchek, bass player for Sass Jordan, stepped into Daryl's place for our next date in Winnipeg and then a month later with Vince Neil in Montreal. I had never had to book the band before, so I readily let Mike Hall take over that job after Daryl had left.
With Daryl gone, suddenly there were three members of the band living in or around Toronto and then there was Archie and I in London. This created all sorts of problems and by the end of the summer I had let them all go-with the exception of Archie. Arch suggested that I use Shawn Sanders (lead guitar) and Stan Fountain (bass) from his old band The Buffalo Brothers, and Dan Faucett (lead guitar) to form the new band. Our first test was a two week tour of western Canada in December. The band played great and performed on several TV shows while out west. Upon returning to Ontario we performed on the Mike Bullard Show.
